Questions are always welcome here.
Choosing a doctor for yourself and your family is a big decision, and we would much rather you feel comfortable before you join than after. These are the questions we hear most often. If yours is not here, please reach out. We are happy to walk through it with you.
How It Works
-
Direct primary care is a membership model. Instead of billing your insurance for each visit, we charge one flat monthly fee that covers your relationship with your physician: your visits, your access, your messaging, and your care planning. Removing insurance from the exam room removes the time pressure and the billing rules that shape care in a traditional practice.
-
No. A membership is not insurance and does not replace it. It covers your relationship with your primary care physician, and nothing else.
-
We recommend it, and most of our members have it. Your membership covers your primary care. Insurance covers what it does not: labs, imaging, prescriptions, specialists, emergency care, surgery, and hospitalization. The two work alongside each other, and nothing about your existing coverage has to change when you join.
-
Exactly as it always has, for everything outside our office. When you need labs, imaging, or medication, you use your plan the way you normally would. If you prefer to pay cash for some services, Dr. Donnelly partners with local laboratories and imaging centers to offer substantially discounted rates.
-
We accept members regardless of insurance status. Your primary care is covered by your membership either way, and Dr. Donnelly will help you find the most affordable path for anything beyond it.
-
Many concierge practices charge a premium annual fee and still bill your insurance for every visit, which means insurance requirements continue to shape your care. At Clarity MD, your membership is the entire fee. We do not bill insurance for visits.
Cost & Membership
-
An individual membership is $225 per month. Couple, family, and community rates are also available.
-
Your comprehensive annual exam, follow-up visits as often as your care requires, same or next-day appointments for urgent concerns, direct messaging with Dr. Donnelly through our patient app, and telehealth or phone visits when appropriate. Your membership also includes in-office diagnostic testing and simple procedures when needed, such as flu and COVID testing, urinalysis, cryotherapy, and removal of simple skin lesions or skin tags.
-
No copays, no per-visit charges, and no fee for messaging Dr. Donnelly.
-
Labs, imaging, prescription medications, specialist care, procedures performed elsewhere, emergency care, and hospitalization. Most members use insurance for these.
-
Same or next-day for urgent concerns. Routine visits are scheduled at your convenience, and you will not be waiting weeks or months for an opening.
-
Members message Dr. Donnelly directly through our patient app, which is the fastest way to get a question answered. If you prefer to call, a knowledgeable team member can help with urgent needs, scheduling, and membership questions.
-
As long as they need to be. Your comprehensive annual exam is the longest visit of the year. Follow-ups are scheduled with enough room to finish the conversation.
Your Care
-
She is a board-certified family medicine physician providing comprehensive adult primary care: preventive care, chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol and thyroid disease, acute illness, and mental health concerns including anxiety, depression, and ADHD.
-
No. Dr. Donnelly practices evidence-based medicine. She does not sell supplements or products, and she will tell you honestly when something is unproven or not worth the cost.
-
She will refer you, usually to someone she knows and trusts from more than a decade of practicing in the Scottsdale area. She sends them your context and follows up with you afterward.
-
Hospital care is handled by the hospital's physicians and billed through your insurance. Dr. Donnelly remains your primary care physician and will help you understand what happened and what comes next.
